Sculpture Algorithm | Sculptural drawings, sketches and models from the collection of the Olomouc Museum of Art

The exhibition is conceived as a companion project to the profile exhibition of the sculpture collection of the Olomouc Museum of Art, and will present the preparatory phase of the sculptures creation, i.e. the creative process of the sculptor himself. The exhibits will include studio drawings and records of the artists from the primary search for shape, forms and compositions to the materialization of the idea of a specific work, whether through a drawing or a three-dimensional sketch and model. The works on display will showcase the approaches of individual artists and the changes in the medium over time - baroque bozzettas, models for public commissions from the 19th and early 20th centuries, sculptural drawings, sketches and examples of designs for specific sculptural objects and installations from the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition will also be complemented by several graphic sheets and historical photographs, which in the past were a common part of the so called "model workshop collection", a valuable source of inspiration, a workshop often used for several generations.
