A founding member of DOFO, a chemist and the holder of several patents in the area of synthetic medicines. He was an expert on special photographic techniques and technologies. His free work focused primarily on landscapes, which he either captured as wide shots with a poetic feel, or concentrated on details with a formal or graphic interest. Prior to 1974, working together with Rupert Kytka, he created the extensive series Dobrá země (‘Good Country’), a work that celebrates the beauty and power of nature. Sapara was also active as a teacher and as an organizer of photographic exhibitions. He taught special photographic techniques at the School of Art Photography in Brno and at the Institute of Art Photography of the Association of Czech Photographers (Svaz českých fotografů).
