Opening

Both Jan Nepomucký and Jan Sarkander were martyrs of the confessional mystery. In Moravia, moreover, reverence for both Johns was often combined, especially in the Baroque period. Therefore, the exhibition at the Archdiocesan Museum Olomouc will for the first time jointly present art objects related to the cult of both saints. Primarily through altarpieces, statues, liturgical furnishings, but also decorated membership registers, prints, university theses, membership cards, medals and sacramentals, the exhibition will introduce visitors to the legends of their martyrs lives.
